Cutting edge competitors: Kelowna skating club takes podium and ends season
The Kelowna Skating Club (KSC) had a strong, competitive finish to the season. The KSC hosted the BC Super Series Star Final last weekend at the Capital News Centre and won eight medals for the local club.
Kelowna’s Emily Sales, Brooklyn Cowen and Kira Koffler took gold, silver and bronze for the Juvenile Women under 14 category. Sales also won silver in the STAR 9 event.
The BC Super Series Star Final is a BC championship competition geared toward figure skaters at a developmental level.
“It is very promising to see such strong results and depth from our younger skaters,” said Jason Mongrain, director of KSC.
Kelowna’s Ariana Rose won gold in the STAR 4 Girls and Calissa Adlem took home bronze.
This event wraps up the season of figure skating for BC.
“It was a great finish to the season for our crew,” said Mongrain.
